Hyperbole Studios workshop at A+D Museum
Yes it’s true, Kiel Johnson and his team of Hyperbolists are not the selfish group of hermits you thought they were. We have branched out and are touching the community with a super fun and informative workshop at the Architecture and Design Museum every weekend this August. Kids, ages 9-13, are assembling each Sat morning to learn about Bucky Fuller and his love of the triangle. Then we build and decorate a geodesic dome of our own design out of cardboard.
If that doesn’t sound like enough, hold on. My great friend and sound master blaster Chris Avitable from the sound collective Ojo will be there with instruments and recording equipment for the kids to use in the dome. They record silly sounds and make noise. Then Chris somehow puts it all in his uber-talanted brain and and mixes it all back to them creating an album that they get to go home with and play until their parents lose there minds. How cool is that?
The kids love it and I think I actually learn more than they do. Here is a link to learn more about it. A+D Museum
